Firefighters from both Bray and Greystones responded to a wildfire that broke out in the early afternoon at Djouce Woods, on the Old Long Hill, which is situated between the village of Enniskerry to the north and Roundwood to the south.
There have been no reports of injuries at this time, and the cause of the fire has not yet been established.
Members of the public and visitors to forests and other recreational areas are still urged to cooperate with all requests regarding fire safety, obey all relevant bye-laws and should not be using barbeques or other outdoor fire sources in forest lands.
While Monday's blaze was contained before it could cause more extensive damage, authorities continue to monitor conditions closely and have urged the public to remain vigilant for any signs of fire during the ongoing period of warm and dry weather.
